Experience with Bruce “A” Steam Generator Replacement Project



Alignment Requirements:

· Integral Steam Drums (SDs) aligned horizontally above each bank of four Steam Generators (SGs)
· SDs are connected to SGs by 72-inch Steam Inlet Nozzles
· SDs are separated from the SGs and relocated temporarily to permit SG replacement
· Each SG has a 24 inch Primary Heat Transport (PHT) Inlet & Outlet Nozzles on the lower end
· Each Bank requires a 12 point alignment (4 Stem Inlets and 8 PHT Inlet & Outlet Nozzles)
· * Precision measurement required to achieve fit-up tolerances in accordance with ASME Section III
